- <p> As a high school dropout, France's Vanessa Paradis was
- unsure of her career direction, so she decided to try two. So
- far both are working out. Earlier this year the stunning
- femme-enfant was named her country's top female pop singer, and
- a few weeks later won France's equivalent of an Oscar for her
- role as a drug addict in Noce Blanche. Paradis, 17, intends to
- pursue both paths for now. After all, "a lot of girls are
- served on a silver platter one day and dropped the next."
